Custom Poly-Wrapping Services

Four SITMA high speed poly-wrappers. Each is equipped with a variety of features including multiple stations (feeders) and various addressing options. These machines can wrap a package up to 2" in height or collate up to 10 pieces.

    Environment

    Protecting the environment is very important to us and our clients. Over the years we have made a concious effort to be “Green”. With over 98% of our byproduct being recycled, we have been very successful in minimizing what goes into the landfill.


    Flexibility

    Turnaround periods depend on volume, schedule, and complexity. Normal turnarounds are scheduled for two to five days.

    Collation and Assembly

    We perform automated collation of catalogs, magazines, brochures, newsletters, CD's, product samples, etc. to the specifications of our customers. In addition, we have a handwork area for assembling specialty packages that cannot be automated.


    Automated Equipment

    Our specialty is collating, poly-wrapping, addressing and mailing magazines, catalogs, brochures, newsletters, etc. We have the capability to either paper label or ink jet address (with messaging) either on the poly or on the printed piece. We also have automated equipment to address only (no poly).

    Beginning with the check in point and ending with the final loading, PPS employees are constantly checking for accuracy & quality.

    First Line’s Capabilities

    Sitma® Poly-Wrapper Line 1
    • Maximum size magazine: 11" x 17"
    • Minimum size magazine: 4" x 5"
    • Maximum thickness: 2"
    • Cover opener right after shuttle feeder - 30% slowdown
    • Can randomly plow open perfect bound magazines to insert a card - 30% slowdown
    • Can randomly plow open saddle stitched magazines to insert a card - 35% slowdown; minimum of 50 pages
    • Machine has 5 pockets
    • 3 onsets pockets
    • 2-180 degree pockets
    • Overhead shuttle feeder in 6th position
    • Selective onseting in three pockets 1 up labels only
    • Standard labeling is parallel to the backbone and can be applied to either the book or poly 1" - 1½" - 2" 1 up or 4 wide
    • One pocket has option of 90° turn
    • Spot hot melt glue to magazine, envelope or onsets on seam side front or back cover
    • Spot hot melt glue to onserts, magazine or top on clear side front or back cover - 30% slowdown
    • Label Air application to book or to poly
    • Ink jet printing to book or poly 2" maximum height
    • Minimum onset size 3" x 4"
    • Onsets smaller than host piece not on seam side of poly will be accessed a slowdown
    • Side shuttle option for 3 books
    • Poly gage can range from 0.001 mil to 0.004 mil


    Second Line’s Capabilities

    • Can randomly plow open perfect bound magazines to insert a card - 30% slowdown
    • Can randomly plow open saddle stitched magazines to insert a card - 35% slowdown; minimum of 50 pages
    • Machine has 10 pockets
    • 6 onserts pockets
    • 2-180 degree pockets
    • 2-90 degree pockets
    • Standard labeling is parallel to the backbone and can be applied to either the book or poly 1" - 1½" - 2" 1 up or 4 wide
    • Spot hot melt glue to magazine, envelope or onsets on seam side front or back cover
    • Spot hot melt glue to onsets, magazine or top on clear side front or back cover - 30% slowdown
    • Label Air application to book or to poly
    • Ink jet printing address or message to book or onto poly 2" maximum height

    • Stream feeder to feed 1-50 cards on one pin space cards have to be the same (50 card in one space 30 books per minute)
    • Add heat tunnel to end of line to accommodate shrink film at low speed
